Microsoft releases security update for critical flaw
On 17th December microsoft released an important security patch for a critical flaw in internet explorer.The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer.This vulnerability was reported after the release of Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2.
In simple words when user gets into a specially crafted web page malicious software (ex:trojans) can be downloaded in the background to the victims computer.Thus,without any hinderance the victim gets affected and after that many secure information will be at stake.Primary chinese sites providing cracked softwares,keygens,game cheat code,etc are affecting users.
Concerns about the security bug escalated as it was discovered that it affected not only version 8 of Internet Explorer, but also IE 5.01 SP4, IE 6, IE 6 SP1, and IE 7 Beta 2. Attacks incorporating the exploit have also been seen on websites around the world, potentially putting Internet Explorer users at risk in the absence of a patch.
The patch is automatically installed if automatic update is turned on.Otherwise it can be installed manually.
